I just made my elephant painting and I did some research! Here is what I got for you all!
Gentle giant🌹🍃
💡Did you know:
🐘 a new born elephant is about lbs. (90-120 kg)
🐘Gestation period is 18-22months
🐘Their tusks are actually teeth
🐘 They have around 150,000 muscle units in their trunk. They are sensitive and able to pick up a peanut and shell it by blowing on it and then eat the nut.
🐘 They have thick skin 2.5cm thick
🐘They communicate through vibrations (low trumpet calls we cannot hear) and seismic signals that they detect through their bones.
🐘They never forget things because their temporal lobe (associated with memory) is larger and denser than people.
🐘90% of African elephants have been wiped out leaving about 415,000 wild elephants alive today. #stoptheivorytrade
I have always been the environmental "activist", I would love to contribute to maintaining a healthy population of all species of animals. So I raise awareness and appreciation. It can go a long way.
