This is a short video of me drawing the legs of a Praying Mantis

Watch as the flat colors are shaded and soon the leg will look more defined and real.
Working with color, the realistic effects rely on the gradation.
Shadows and highlights create the optical illusion of a flat surface drawing paper into a more real looking subject.
This is a good insect drawing good for people who like drawing these interesting earth critters.
Praying Mantis are the most diverse and colorful of species which come in different colors and shapes as well!

• yellow mantis
  I guess there are mantis that red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. Some come in neutral colors and gold as well!
  Give these guys a chance and appreciate their beauty!

Materials: Colored Pencils (Mitsubishi Japan Uni No. 888) and Conda Sketchpad (150gsm, Acid Free and Textured)

This is the final output of the mantis
