The objective of a call center employee is to serve customers to the best of your trained ability, attending to their concerns and resolving any issues they have with their equipment. Actually no, it’s not. The real objective is to attend, with minimal cognitive effort, to the recurrent distractions that are keeping you from your book, Sudoku, nap, or in my case, sketches. And sketch I did, I was averaging one 176 page sketchbook every two months. While on the phone with customers, I’d pull up reference pictures on shutterstock, which was one of few unblocked image sites, and draw people and animals. This use of my time made the job much more bearable, not to mention my skills with the pencil improved significantly.
