I have never really thought of making digital art, even though I owned a graphic tablet. The main reason keeping me from trying it is the fact that the tablet I owned wasn’t pressure sensitive. And I always thought I won’t be able to draw anything somewhat good. And I don’t own Photoshop, so I really didn’t have a program to work in and MS Paint doesn’t count. And then just one day I was watching Draw with Jazza when I got inspired by his speech and I actually found out that when he started, he also had just some random pad tablet like me (I would still rather buy pad tablet than the one with screen, I just prefer them). So I just went to alternativeTo, found FireAlpaca and downloaded it. I just started drawing and undoing for, I would say, two hours and this is the final result.
My very first digital drawing.
I was really impressed when I saw the final result. I would still make some changes in the iris part with the light here and there. But overall, I’m extremely satisfied, taking in consideration that I don’t have any special drawing skills, I just enjoy it. I actually liked it so much that I made it my cover photo on Facebook.
From this project, I kind of learned what I already knew from proverbs, I just proved it to myself — The hardest part is to start. And it really is. By the time I actually started drawing this, I have found dozens of reasons why I can’t do it. And when I finally started, I realized it was more than possible — it was easy!
