Hello Steemians,
Continuing on from the last Anime Character Drawing - Mikasa. I bring you Melidos and Elizabeth from the anime Seven Deadly Sins. I had requested from to draw Meliodas and had a suggestion of a friend to draw Elizabeth so to kill 2 birds with 1 stone I decided on this frame.
This is not my image it is a snapshot of the scene from the anime "Seven Deadly Sins" - https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80050063
It was a relatively slow process just working on it in the evenings, but it was great to get back at. I'll be honest I wasn't feeling to confident about how it would turn, I felt rusty and picking up the a pencil was a little daunting.
Monday evening,
Not long into this I felt at home again the pencil could draw and I would not fear making a mistake as much.
Stage 1 - a rough block of the position and size of the characters in the composition
Stage 2 - a refinement of the rough blocks to hint at where details will go.
Tuesday
It was late in the day and I didn't get much time to draw, but I did get my first graphite layer done and that is a little milestone.
Stage 3 - first graphite pencil layer picking out the details in a rough way
Wednesday
Not much time again but I got the second graphite layer done which is a refinement of all the details picked out in the last stage.
Stage 4 - refining the detials and really setting them in. Not much changes from here, slight refinements and further setting of the lines.
Thursday
It doesn't look like I got much done but I actually spent more time on thursday than I had on wednesday and completed the first ink layer - probably the slowest and most time consuming stage.
Stage 5 - First ink layer, setting the lines in for good - a fine 0.1 pen.
Friday
I had about the same amount of time as I did on thursdays but this I managed to get 2 ink layers done. The second I used 0.3 fine pen and the third is just a felt bush pen.
Stage 6 - Second layer on pen using a slightly thicker tipped pen - 0.3.
Stage 7 - Add border to characters using a bush felt pen.
Saturday
A fair amount of time allowing me to add tone and shading to the characters.
Stage 8 - Using a pencil shade render the character setting the tone of the different colors, then add the shading the characters
The Final - I hope you like it
I'm more than happy with how this turned out I thought I would need more warm up than it actually turned out. The main things I dislike about this drawing are the smaller details that I've been a bit lazy about and think I should work on a stepping from A4 paper to A3 paper which would give the space to be able to focus in on such details. At the same time I'm happy to stick with the A4 and sort glaze over the smaller details for now, but it is the worst part. Other than that, the camera shot isn't quiet at the same angle as the screen shot and has meant I've had to compensate through-out the process.
What do you you think?
Feel free to leave a request in the comments.
Until next time
Stay well
