This is my submission for the Drawing Challenge by and judged by
Their theme for this challenge is to draw a portrait of a child with pencil only. I used my youngest daughter Marilyn for the inspiration behind this drawing.
I am sorry the photos are a bit large I cannot seem to figure out the mark down code to make them smaller.
Step 1
I looked thru some photos of her and did a very rough sketch outline. I like to start of light with the pencil and just make a basic template.
Step 2
I then start darkening the lines on where I think I may want them to be.
Step 3
*Next I continue to darken in lines and adding detail. *
Step 4
I continue to darken more line and add more details. I also start fixing mis-proportioned shapes.
Step 5
More Detailing and shaping going into place. Adding shading and using my finger to blend the graphite.
Step 6
I fixed more of the nose and lips and some of the hair.
Step 7
I am almost done.
Step 8
Added my signature! I sign every DRU with the R backwards. It was a nickname given to me in high school and it has stuck with all of my artwork. That was 18 years ago
Here are the photos I used for my inspiration!
