The morning rays danced on my face forcing me to open my eyes. I squinted against the bright light, slowly opening my eyes. Beside me, Ben was lightly snoring without the blanket, a nightly routine despite my efforts to tuck it in.
I climbed down from the bed and went into the kitchen. I rummaged through my cupboard. It had been a while since I utilized any ingredients or utensils. Hoping I still had some, my eyes scanned until I located the black nylon where I stored everything I needed.
I climbed the kitchen stool, brought down the nylon and opened it. "flour, sugar, butter, baking powder, milk, vanilla extract", I counted. There was something missing:- eggs. I took a quick trip to the fridge and pulled the door open. As I bent down for some eggs, I heard a voice.
"What are you up to this early Saturday morning?" The voice said.
I lifted my head to find Ben in his pyjamas standing behind me. Curiosity was written all over his face. I stood on my toes and planted a kiss on his lips.
"Good morning my love. Last night I had a dream about pancakes and I decided to make them for breakfast".
Edited a little

Completely overturned.
As the morning sun rays danced on my face, I woke up feeling energized. I found Ben lying beside me, snoring peacefully despite the chilly weather. Without wasting any time, I got up and headed straight to the kitchen, feeling confident and eager to whip up some delicious pancakes.
I quickly scanned through my cupboard and located the black nylon bag that held my baking essentials. Flour, sugar, butter, baking powder, milk, and vanilla extract - I had everything I needed. But as I rummaged through the ingredients, I realized I was running low on eggs.
Determined not to let this setback ruin my mood, I marched over to the fridge to fetch some eggs. Just as I was about to open the fridge door, I heard a voice behind me.
"What are you up to this early Saturday morning?" Ben asked, his curiosity piqued.
I turned around with a confident smile, ready to show off my culinary skills. "Good morning, my love. I had a dream about pancakes last night, and I'm going to make them for breakfast," I announced proudly.
Ben looked impressed, and I felt even more confident. With a spring in my step, I got back to work, knowing that my pancakes were going to be the best he had ever tasted.
