My day off news and politics today.
The middle of the week like today is when I get to spend most of the day alone with my daughter. And as the weather is getting a bit chilly for riding motorbikes, we instead played drones, among other things.
Now I know some people on here and around near where I live spend thousands of £'s on a single drone. Not me though, I am the thrifty bugger of drones.
The one pictured above I bought around 1 hour ago online. I took a screenshot for this article as it will not arrive for another 2 or 3 days. Why did I buy that one above? Well it comes down to our little trusted drone giving up (sort of).
The one above although boxed is not brand new, it cost $15 including postage. It has a camera/video on it also. Okay not the best quality but hey, it is only getting used in the fields anyway, and there is bugger all in them to video.
As you can see on the old one, it lost 1 motor shaft.
I bought that one brand new off gearbest for around $25 including post. And even though it will no longer fly it still drives, so buying a 2 in 1 had its advantages you see. As I knew it would be broken one day, with a 6 year old piloting it.
We have had many hours of fun with that little car/drone. Even if it is only chasing my daughter around with it as a car.
As they both (the remotes) work at 2.4 ghz, it will be interesting to see which remote works best and the furthest.
The strange part about the flying car is it goes 3 times as fast when turning corners as it does going straight.
The next thing I am after whilst winter is coming, is a good metal detector for spring, so I can get out in the fields walking more with my daughter, and give her something interesting to do at the same time. The last time out we found a silver St Christopher, apparently worn around 1900 by nuns. What a nun was doing out the back in our fields only she knows. I think though in the distant past, there may have been a short cut to nearby villages via our land. As some teenagers still take the same trek.
Motorbikes, metal detectors and most outdoor things drop dramatically in price here in the winter, hence why I am looking now.
