As some may remember when DrugWars hit everyone’s feed I started a brief experiment. Obviously, with the disabled battles due to a discovered exploit, the experiment’s outcome is not representative of a real game play anymore and thus rather irrelevant.
Except for those who truly want to maximize profits. For those... get in, if you still haven’t started yet! And buy that darn Cocina.
Because there were no battles, I have been able to grow faster than expected and also to bank more drugs than expected. Both of which hadn’t happened if battles had been operationally normal. With only 10% of storage capacity protected I would never have been able to upgrade my resources and thus I wouldn’t have had any increase in drug production.
At the same time other players wouldn’t have grown that fast either, but the bigger players would have been able to raid many, many millions of resources and thus increase their production at a much faster rate.
Protip: Because troops (brawlers) made in the boot camp only DIE in the vile world of drugs and cartels, if you don’t spend and can’t build an army big enough to make the biggest whales think twice, thrice even about attacking you... don’t get any troops unless you’re going to raid yourself. But raiding requires that you have spotted a target because, inevitably, somebody bigger and meaner and much more “Don” will pass and tell your troops to bend over kill your troops and raid your drugs.
It’s more fun if you’re a whale.
So... how did I fare in 1 week?

As can be seen I didn’t bank drugs every day, instead I have been upgrading my buildings because I wanted to nevertheless see how progressing went... the writing is on the wall and I’m bored.
Current buildings overview
I guess I could keep things going a little longer and maximize further, especially with the battles disabled but while I normally fully subscribe to the Lean Methodology, the writing is on the wall and DrugWars still has a far way to go. By the time it will have achieved release level in which it is more mature... the global drugs production will be humongous and everything is left even more for penny pinchers or big spenders.
I think those who want to maximize can still get in and should get in. And once they bought their Cocina, which is priced differently but still a great starting building while the battles are disabled, they should pray hard that the battles continue to be disabled for the longest possible time.
I have more thoughts about it, also about the “early launch” and a post which was recently even tweeted to Gary V. but considering that I have no intentions to become an active spender player, I’m going to keep them for myself.
Until then... Imma toke a nice one.
