Without anyone's approval or consulting with the community first, the dev behind DrugWars or whoever is responsible for this outlandish, reckless and irresponsible move, has single-handedly killed DrugWars, in a heartbeat. After changing the game so many times before, dilluting "investors" stake (hate to use this word for DW players), making it unplayable for weeks on end, it came to light that the terms of payout are changed (not for the better), once again.
And you have less than 48 hours before it's implemented.
A dick move at best.
This time, the rewards aren't going to be paid out in a lesser amount to drive sustainability of the game but rather in a freshly minted shitcoin called FUTURE. A coin we have no reason to believe will hold any significant value in the future. Especially not a value anywhere close to the coin which was used to pay for in-game items and in which the rewards have been paid out since the get-go.
As most of you know (even if you haven't "played" the "game") earning STEEM for "playing" was the strongest motive for most players to "play" and the only reason some "invested" their money into it.
It has been promised from the start, engraved in the blockchain and even made into a motto. "The drugs and guns are virtual but the money is real."
I guess they should change it now as it is not true anymore.
The money ain't real no more!
Instead of it being tangible like it was before (paid out in STEEM) now it's non-existent. It's merely a promise that the people who are known for intentionally fucking up their early investors, many times before (especially big ones), will actually use the promised % of STEEM invested to buyback their FUTURE shitcoins when you dump them on the market.
Is that a bet you would be willing to put money on?
I can't say that I would. Not after seeing how they managed it so far and how little they think of the people that supported their "game".
The bottom line is that
You ain't getting your money back!
And the worst thing about it is how poorly they scapegoat.
Why FUTURE and not DRUGS?
We wanted an unique token which can be cross used over all our platforms (and maybe even more). The name DRUGS was also complicated for being listed on exchanges.
Firstly, why FUTURE not STEEM?
That's what their title should have been but its something they obviously won't go into...
Secondly, that's complete, utter bs!
That's straight out two-timing everyone who put any money into your "game". And it's not the first time you have made such a move but it's rather the worst one, to date. Mainly because if everyone knew this from the get-go, most wouldn't send two STEEM your way. Additionally, those that invested in your "game" care NOT about your other platforms but about DW!
Finally, giving souch a lousy reason for this martyrdom is unacceptable and only serves as an insult to the intelligence of people that had anything to do with your "game". You must think of them as pure imbeciles to be able to say such a thing without thinking twice about it.
- BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE! Listen to this.
In depth.
The new mechanic is still based on your drugs production as well as the Heist. That will allow you to earn the FUTURE tokens. Then you will be able to use the FUTURE Tokens in the game and later on you’ll be able to exchange (which won’t take too much time as discussions are being held now). Plus: You will also get FUTURE Tokens airdropped depending on your investment in Drugwars.
First of all, "in depth"? This is what you condsider to be in depth? You must be fucking joking, right? Sadly, no, they aren't.
So, instead of getting liquid STEEM, now everyone will get some worthless shitcoins which can then be exchanged for in-game items. How fucking awesome, right?
WRONG!
Oh wait, stutters - b, b, b, but, you will be able to exchange them for STEEM in the future, right?
I wouldn't hold my breath on it. Mostly because they will be worth so little that the amounts they will sell for are going to be meaningless for most. If not straight away, then after a couple of weeks for sure....
PLUS! Like that is supposed to be a bonus.
PLUS: they will also be giving away some FUTURE based on amount spent on the game, further diluting its value to the max.
And the absurdity of their reasoning goes on throughout their post.
Wait! What happen to the rest of the pool?
The entire pool will be used to inject value to the FUTURE tokens. This will give a way for all early players to recover a small fraction of their Steem if they want. (But we definitely suggest you to keep them because nobody know what the FUTURE is made from)
Nothing to worry about here. Definitely not an exit scam! We will just take all of the STEEM from the pool and use it to buy back our shitcoins from you some time down the line. You gotta trust us on that though.
Can I still be rewarded with Steem?
Of course, you can still earn Steem with DrugWars upvotes, we keep the share system and will improve it to make it more interesting for delegators and obviously for FUTURE holders!
Are they even for real? I can't believe they can be as cocky as to say such a thing.
We removed the reward pool but you can still get upvoted from an account that has 21k SP and we will take a 30% cut from the entire post meaning, that in the end, you will actually reward us with STEEM for being such an idiot in the first place.
And this just goes on and on and on.
Why this change was needed?
The sustainability of the game was one of the motive for this change and to reduce the cost of each items, buildings, and units in Drugwars. Above that, other revenue streams are coming but the motivation to tokenize the game was primary to us. Furthermore we are taking another step forward in the tokenization of all of our active and upcoming projects that you can find here by introducing the FUTURE token in every applications under Futureshock.
So, again you are devaluing someones investment for the sake of prolonging the inevitable death of a flawed system you knew was going to fail from day one.
That's something you would be going to jail for in some countries.
And this is what the guy behind Drugwars has to say:
Hey
all investment with Steem are giving you the same benefits now and will do in the future.
Now that's a straight out lie! The benefits to "investing" or buying in-game items, however you want to put it, is definitely NOT the same after implementation of this change.
Getting some shitcoins for spending STEEM is NOT the same as to getting STEEM for spending STEEM. Everyone should be able to come to that same conclusion but must think that we are all half-wit retards.
Which he then confirmed once again in his other reply:
"Allow the Rewards Pool to be drained over time and the Steem payouts to happen like was implicilty and explicity promised to happen."
The choice was between giving back all the pool to players depending of their investment, or let them choose what they want to do with the FUTURE token.
We prefered to give the choice to players nothing else!
"We preferred to give the choice to players nothing else!"
That's a blatant lie.
If he truly wanted to give players some choice he should have refunded (kept paying out) their investments in STEEM because issuing some freshly minted shitcoins for that purpose isn't really much of a choice or compensation.
I don't know what else to say about this mess to be honest. dug
such a massive hole with this ninja-move that it just can't get out from anymore. Unless he decides not to implement this catabolic feature.
If does it goes through, this will be the move that ruined DrugWars for everyone and forever tarnished the credibility and integrity of and
.
Way to go!
The backlash is real (can be seen in the comment section of their latest post) but I wonder why big-time investors like ,
,
and others haven't reacted yet. Will be interesting to see what their perspective is and what they will do about it.
Needless to say, I'm especially eager to see what Berns does.
Anyway, this was another hard lesson to learn for many. One that will pay out in the future if you decide not to repeat it!
Never trust a project with your money. Even if their team has been here for a while and were credible so far, that doesn't mean they will continue with the same enthusiasm and integrity in the future.
