Hello everyone!
Today I recorded and released a new song for my song-of-the-month project, and here it is. It's one of the few songs I wrote on the piano, however, I switched to the banjo for this recording, as it just seems to fit this tune better.
This song is inspired by some people I knew a long time ago. Sometimes good intent leads to bad results.
Thanks for the ongoing support and to @Dsound as well!
Lyrics:
Billy he's a running, running to the lord
Throwing down the plowshare, picking up the sword
He came to save us, up from Tennessee,
We followed and followed, wanting to be free
He set out to preach the word
But now he's killing souls
That woman she's beside him, both her hands are soft
She smiles as she greets you, as she cuts you off
She's sent here from the heavens of this she is sure
But the life you live means nothing to her
She set out the preach the word
But now she's killing souls
They're dancing in the kitchen, dancing in the dark
Dancing in the attic, dancing in my heart
Those evil thoughts come to me, one by one
Then they run through me, and I am done
I set out to preach the word
But now I'm killing souls
Oh I set out to preach the word
But now I'm killing souls
