Today I'm sharing the first track off the seventh Maserati full-length and my first with the band. San Angeles started, as many Maserati jams do, with a synth arpeggiation. Maserati itself actually started very much as a post-rock band that incorporated delay into most of the guitar arrangements ... this sort of track demonstrates pretty succinctly how short the leap was from delay based, Explosions In The Sky sorta cinematic textures into more percussive, synth-like territory. Synth arpeggios were really an incredibly natural bridge and easy way to push the band into slicker, more head-nodding territory. Enjoy!
