Hope you are all having a great weekend? Here’s our current single which marks a significant (temporary) style change as it’s a piano-lead vocal ballad. We went back a decade (from our usual 80s influenced sounds) to the 70s and took inspiration from some of the most successful songwriters from that era: Cynthia Weil, Barry Mann, Carol King, Tom Snow, Carol Bayer-Sager and Peter Allen to name a few. It's fully orchestrated and not synthesiser in sight!
A little life less ordinary
———————————
A little life less ordinary
Began with good intentions
A picture book of children’s tales
Hid sadness in its pages
A child lost at sea
Searching for company
Against the waves of war
Swept far out from the shore
You can’t come undone
It’s they who are wrong
A little life less ordinary
Unravelled by deception
A class divide pushed to the side
That underlined the tension
A child lost at sea
Searching for company
Against the waves of war
Swept far out from the shore
A little life less ordinary
Left blinded by ambition
A clean fresh face so out of place
Was forced in to submission
A child lost at sea
Searching for company
Against the waves of war
Swept far out from the shore
Another shipwrecked soul
At risk of losing it all
The play is left write
It’s time to put up a fight
You can’t come undone
It’s they who are wrong
A little life less ordinary
Was all I ever wanted
No great desire to create history
And fame I never courted
A little life
A little life
Was all I ever wanted
A little life
A little life
Was all I ever wanted
A little life
A little life
Was all I ever wanted
A little life
A little life
Was all I ever wanted
