This is a very crude demo of the song, "Shine" that we're currently in the studio, working on. The finished product will be freakin' awesome. But, I hope you can enjoy the demo also. The storytelling on this song is something I am very proud of.
Blessing and music to you!!!
Shine
Cassie, she sell records in a shop down by the beach
Saving every dollar in a jar that she keeps
She says, "One day I'm going to see the world, outside."
"And drink in the beauty of a New York City sky."
Oh yes, she does.
Jimmie he plays guitar, just outside the record shop.
He's got a case full of dollars that passersby would drop
Wishing she would listen to the words in his songs
Every one about the girl that he's been dreaming of
But sometimes, life waits to shine.
Until you're ready to see the light.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
Years go passing by and she's still not made enough
But every nickel that Jimmie made, he's give to his love
He says, "If we go together, we can build another life."
"We'd find a way to make it, if you'd only be my wife."
"If you would."
Cassie's eyes fill with tears as she comes to realize
The lights of the city, could never be this bright
She's got all she ever wanted in the sand and the surf.
And the love of a man right in front of her.
And sometimes, life waits to shine.
Until you're ready to see the light.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
Just a few years later, Cassie's sitting on the beach
Looking out over the waves at the child who's running free
She looks so much like her dad, she just couldn't understand
How she ever thought the city could replace the life she has
But sometimes, life waits to shine.
Until you're ready to see the light.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
