What's going on party people! We've made it through the ugly half of the week, now the weekend is in sight and, in the UK, it's a long one because we have Monday off as well... AMAZING!
Hard Fork 21
So, it looks like things are starting to take shape with regard to the very underwhelming, hardly talked about, swept under the carpet Hard Fork 21. I don't normally talk about STEEM goings on in my music posts or anywhere on my blog and this will likely be the only time I do talk about it in my posts - you can see my comments dotted around the place if you so wish.
For the layman, all that's happening is an update/change to how things will work. It's a bit like terms and conditions changing except there had to be common agreement with the top community members that run things around here. The big hoohah about post payouts moving to 50/50 and post payouts below 16 STEEM being adversely affected has been well documented. I was initially annoyed of course but then I pulled my head out of my own arse and remembered there are more ways to earn steem than just posting. Things such as delegating to dapps/@ocdb, playing games, contests or joining tribes, heck, even engaging part time on the platform each week will be good enough to get you some steem from 's engagement league as I've proven!
What Will I Be Doing?
Nothing is going to be changing for me this end, I'm still going to be posting my music and try to every day because a world without music is a sad place indeed. I'll still be using the platform as is and engaging like I normally have been not because it will earn me steem but because I actually enjoy interacting with the people here. Let's face it, if all my 2,300SP was liquid, I wouldn't be able to live off a month's rent in the UK where I live so it's better off being used here as STEEM POWER, supporting those who I come across and building it up to one day be worth something more... like a WHOLE month's rent LOL!
The Way I See STEEM
It's a social media/networking platform that offers an investment opportunity for those who want it. The social media side gives a real chance to network with some talented people and writers and the investment side, now I have a job, I will seriously think about buying some more STEEM as I'm on a mission to dolphin hood (and beyond), which means I can give better support, which then helps feed my own account and that grows to give people better support and so on and so on.
Final Thoughts
We can moan about the post payouts and whatever other antics on the platform but that's a waste of energy and the most important commodity - time. Start with making yourself shine in a positive way in this place, get involved, interact, join the multiple tribes and dapps that appeal to you (of which there are MANY - for bloggers,
for exercise freaks,
for musicians,
for some of steem's finest authors,
for brilliant travel articles... to name a few!) and you'll see your blog grow.
It's not rocket science but this is a big place and although there's Much To Learn, take baby steps to get your blog going and you'll soon find yourself become a steem addict... like me lol!
Much To Learn
So with all this in mind, I still feel I have a lot to learn. I seem to be in a plethora of Discord communities relating to STEEM and I feel like I know only 10% of what's going on around here but that's OK, I don't need to know everything, that in itself is impossible. And I made this track a while back as I realised that life is full of learning opportunities and we never really know anything, just be a perpetual student of life and you'll be fine :)
Enjoy
