The giddy smile and tears of joy almost welling up as throwing this mix on for a relisten to give it a proper writeup.
It would've been about a decade ago that I had put this together.
I'd just returned back to Vancouver from my first time in Thailand, and had it in mind that I wanted to get play at the "Celebrities" club in town. Though it was a gay bar, they had some crazy "straight" Tuesday nights, and the prospect of playing such a high-intensity party on the regular was alluring.
The vibe herein: a proper fit for the venue, influenced with some of what I'd been taking in at the clubs in Phuket, and some of the b-more and electro style my high school homey had recently introduced me to.
I never did end up going after the Celebrities residency, and this mix wasn't a representation of the style I played out, but still stands as a pretty awesome creative experiment...

This one is not for the faint of heart.
I'm almost a bit surprised I wasn't on drugs at the time I made it, as holy fuck, is it ever hard-driving! Ha! (But in a good way).
In hindsight, it's almost a bit of a shame I never did follow through and actualize that fleeting dream of DJing Celebrities. With the taste and skill embodied in this mix, I sure could have rocked the shit out of that place. Oh well. I guess I never wanted it that bad.
And whatever the case, this mix still stands timeless - providing inspiration to this day on and onwards.

This probably ain't one to throw on if you're just winding down and wanting something relaxing to listen to, but if you're up for a coffee substitute, needing a soundtrack to keep you Steeming throughout the night, or looking for a mix to take with you to the gym, look no further.
It's a real pleasure to share this one with you all, as it's been sitting in the digital vault for some time collecting dust and is about ready for some playtime and good lovin.'
