This song is one of my personal favorites that I had written (with the help of the amazing guitar player Chris Black) and it's one of those tracks that I really put all of my emotions and feeling into at the time. This song is particularly personal and resonating to me because at the time I had written it, I was starting to realize that I was struggling as an alcoholic and I was going downhill overall as my drinking became more and more of a problem. Despite being depressed and in a bout of self loathing brought on by my alcoholism, I would still wake up everyday, bush myself off, put a smile on my face and tell myself to "hold on". This fully embodies my state of mind at that time of "bottoming out" on alcohol. What's even cooler about this song however is that I finally actually did dig myself out of that hole. I am now 10 month sober from alcohol going cold turkey and I have been staying strong in hopes of a brighter future. This song was certainly one of my favorites on the album and it's my favorite song to perform live. I put a lot of time and heart into this track and I really hope that it inspires you as much as it did me.
