For some time I've been performing 10cc's I'm Not In Love at our pub sessions in Arlesey. I was actually influenced to play this by the cover by Fun Lovin' Criminals, but it came out different. For some time I've thought about recording it and getting some of my pub friends to contribute backing vocals. I put the suggestion out there and got some tracks from four of them. Some of them did several. I also did a few of my own. I have to say I'm pretty happy with the result. I've recorded this using the open source Ardour DAW running on Linux. I used my Taylor acoustic guitar. I'm not too great at audio production, but I just added some reverb and panned the vocal tracks around to give more of a stereo effect.
Thanks to Mark, Brian, Steve (the other one) and Danielle for their contributions.
I hope to do more recording soon. I just need some inspiration, but I do want to record good versions of my own songs. Danielle and I perform as a clarinet and guitar duo that I'd like to record too. Stay tuned...
Rock on!
