If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? Having never before been in a position to not hear a sound I wasn't available to not hear I don't have a really good answer to that question. Scientifically, the answer is Yes, of course it made a sound. Philosophically one could argue that it's Schrodinger's Sound, both noisy and silent at the same time. Regardless, I can affirm that birds chirping in the forest, with someone there to listen, definitely do make a sound.
