Kingdom of Samudra Pasai (Kerajaan Samudra Pasai)
MEDDER 14th century AD Ibn Baththuthah, the famous explorer of Maghrib (Morocco), visited the sultanate of the Pasai Oceans he called Sumuthrah and then recorded in his report: "Sumuthrah is a large and beautiful city surrounded by fortresses and towers made of wood.
"The city referred to by Ibn Baththuthah is the core area of the history of Samudra Pasai in Samudera District, North Aceh Regency, today.
PERTENGAHAN abad ke-14 M, Ibnu Baththuthah, penjelajah terkenal asal Maghrib (Maroko), mengunjungi kota kesultanan Samudra Pasai yang disebutnya dengan Sumuthrah kemudian ia mencatat dalam laporannya: “Sumuthrah adalah sebuah kota besar dan indah, dikelilingi benteng dan menara-menara terbuat dari kayu.
” Kota yang dimaksud Ibnu Baththuthah itu adalah kawasan inti tinggalan sejarah Samudra Pasai yang berada di Kecamatan Samudera, Kabupaten Aceh Utara, hari ini.
