DroneDeploy Test Run Take 3
Doing some familiarization flights using DroneDeploy. Just invested in this platform to widen my Drone-based product offerings.
Photogrammetry is the complex process of generating accurate 3D reconstructions from 2D images, all while balancing the intricacies of cameras, geometry, motion, and light. Map Engine tracks billions of points in aerial images to simultaneously reconstruct 3D scenes and the trajectory of the drone.
We have brought together the latest advances in cloud computing, computer vision, and machine learning to build a best-in-class photogrammetry pipeline that delivers accurate results in record time—no matter your workflow.”
The tech is pretty clever. You have overlapped the photos so the Map Engine measures GPS position, drone orientation, gimbal orientation. And based on that data analyzes the pixels between positions to create the point clouds which generates different types of outputs.
I decided to record this test because in a previous run I had a flock of birds was circling the Drone pretty aggressively. I had to cut short the run and land immediately. Was able to pick up the mission from where it left off. So I actually tested and proved that it would do this. In class it was covered but we didn't do a test of it.
