Last week, we held our Cryptocurrency Meetup / APPICS Launch Event in Hamburg, Germany.

Almost exactly 1 year ago, APPICS CEO Hive account@sirwinchester hosted the very first Steemit Meetup in Hamburg, Germany - and this year, we rented the exact same conference room to not only talk about Steemit and cryptocurrencies in general, but especially APPICS!

The APPICS weekend started off on sunday with our US ambassador Olumide, Hive account@theglobopreneur, visiting Hamburg.

Hive account@mrs.steemit got to know Olumide earlier this year and then met him in Tokyo where she presented APPICS at the tribe tokyo event.
Now, Olumide wanted to come to Germany to meet the team!
We spent the day showing him around town, and preparing everything for the event with the team.

The Event

We held our event at the 25 hours Hotel in Hamburg, Germany - a modern hotel with unique interior design, located in the "Hafencity" close to the harbour in Hamburg.
A few hours before the event, we met up to prepare the conference room with some snacks and drinks, and get everything ready.

We even had custom APPICS flyers and business cards printed, as well as a large roll-up with the APPICS logo.

Then, the guests started to show up - and the conference room was getting packed!

We were overwhelmed by the amount of people that showed interest in cryptocurrencies and APPICS.
Every seat was occupied, and countless people even stood in the back to listen to the presentations.

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by, we had a great time!

We started off with author Hive account@aaronkoenig, who gave the audience an introduction in Bitcoin and blockchain technology.
Aaron is a friend of ours who produced the Steem Film we shot last year in Berlin.
Then, we heard other speakers like Hive account@sirwinchester and Hive account@mrs.steemit talk about cryptocurrencies in general, Bitcoin investments, Steemit, ICO's and more,
Hive account@sirwinchester even talked about the concept of cryptocurrency mining, and presented his own scrypt mining hardware.

After a short break with some snacks, we introduced the project APPICS.

We showed our official video, talked about the concept behind APPICS, and answered questions from the audience.
The feedback was very positive - everyone was excited about APPICS and wanted to know more and sign up for the pre-sale.

After the presentations, we spent some more time in the conference room casually networking and answering questions.

Finally, we decided to head out - so we all went to an oriental restaurant to have dinner together.

The restaurant was divided in different "stations" where you could order your food and watch it being prepared right in front of you.
They offered delicious authentic turkish and arabian cuisine.

So we continued our conversations and enjoyed some good food.
