"The Chinese station Chang'e-4 landed on the back of the Moon on January 3, 2019, becoming the first device to gently sit on the unexplored side that is never seen from the Earth," the Chinese state media reported.
Later, China successfully has grown cotton seeds on the dark side of the Moon.
Unfortunately, after a few hours the plants died.
The fact is that the lunar night has come, which lasts 14 days.
At this time, there is no sunlight or sufficient heat – the temperature can drop to -170 degrees Celsius. At the same time, during the day the temperature on the Moon can reach + 127 degrees Celsius.
Also, the Moon has low gravity, and the radiation is much higher than on Earth.
Despite the fact that the plants were grown in a special container, which has its own thermal system, they didn’t live long.
But the case itself is an attempt to spread life in the Universe beyond the Earth.
The first step – plants and microorganisms, and if the experiments will be successful, people.
Many people realize that living on the same planet is keeping all your eggs in one basket – it is risk.
After all, if something happens to the Earth, most likely, people will die. And evolution will have to start all over again. Or maybe evolution will follow a different path, and a new species will appear instead of people.
And we want to continue our human race and spread beyond the Earth, and maybe the Solar system.
In the long term, we would like our species to spread throughout the Universe.
Such projects already exist, and we are talking about millennia. Perhaps someday our descendants will colonize a distant planet in some neighboring Galaxy.
Would you like to fly into space (Moon, Mars, other Solar systems) with a similar mission – to spread our species and life from our planet beyond the Earth?
