Hi Friends!
One of the many adventures I got to experience in Acapulco was a tour of John Wayne's personal hot spot - The Flamingo Hotel. It won't take you long into this video to see why it is named that!
It was super cool because they had signed photos of John Wayne all over the place with shots from his various movies. The story of this place is pretty cool too because John Wayne adopted a boy and ending up giving this place to him as a present in his will. Pretty awesome.
For those who don't know - Acapulco used to be a premier Mexico destination for celebrities - and this spot (which is gorgeous and overlooking the cliffside) was where he would host all of his parties. Unfortunately, once the cartel came thorugh - it gave Acapulco a bad rap for safety and tourism has been down since. I honestly thought the city seemed fairly safe when I was there - but the stigma has still kept tourists away.
I hope you guys enjoy getting this little snapshot of the old Hollywood glamour in Acapulco and of the many breathtaking views that this spot boasts.
