This visit to their facility was created a few years ago and it hasn't begun production yet. These super capacitors use Baryte as a raw material ... which is far more plentiful than Lithium. Additionally these capacitors are projected to have a higher energy density compared to Lithium Ion

In other words, the Electrical Energy Storage Unit, or EESU will be able to store more than twice the amount of energy in comparison to current electric vehicle batteries (making the car lighter and be able to travel further) and as a capacitor would be able to be "filled" at the speed of a gasoline fueled car. Capacitors can be charged as quickly as you can provide the electricity.
