Seasonal work never ends, and if you skip a year it doesn't get better, it gets thicker! Here I am working the Tractor to cut down what had turned into a waist-high prairie.
As our time in Wisconsin comes to a close - I think back on all the things we choose to spend our time on. Cutting grass, pruning trees, planting flowers - the seasonal work that never ends but is such a pleasure to do. Perhaps the pleasure comes not from doing it but instead from getting it done!
Physical labor provides a nice balance to computer work - getting outside to enjoy the natural environment, making it better, improving things based on ecosystemic principles - this is enjoyable for the body, mind and spirit. Being on a tractor also has the benefits of being able to listen to audio books, podcasts or other learning material.
Don't forget to get outside while it's still summer - take the opportunity to stand up from your screens, stretch your legs and whole bodies, and spread some mulch, prune a tree or mow the grass. Feel free to let the grass go to seed before mowing it :joy:
The natural cycles of seasonality continue, even if we are oblivious in our daily routine. I think my life in enriched by having one foot in the tech world....and having one foot outside of it.
Many blessings to you all!
