Lion
Finally I was able to upload a video on Dtube again. Hopefully I can re-start my daily art videos from now on.
When I was thinking about Tigers and Lions, i recently realized that I have been leaving one of them out. I have created a drawing of a Tigers eye, yet I have never drawn an eye of the Lion.
And by mistake I think I overlooked the difference both of these types show. I think sometime in the near future I will create separate post comparing both of the sketches I have done.
When learning how to draw animals, and eyes in particular, there is one thing which usually is being overlooked. One tricky aspect to manage is the eyes. There are some critical – yet simple – steps and techniques to follow that will improve your artwork. I think you have to practise sketching eyes. As many types as you can imagine and do practically. Pets, birds, wildlife. Any type.
After doing that, now when I start any drawing, I usually start with the eyes. I now know automatically what to do, and the goal I think is to draw an eye, so that any person after a second of looking at it, could tell to who the eye belongs to. The eyes are that powerful and It is a great thing to being able to draw that convincing and real.
Because the viewer of your image will be drawn to the animal's eyes, you need to show them correctly. It's a good idea to practice sketching different eyes to become familiar with their structure. With their differences.
