Bitcoin has been and still is the rock when it comes to altcoins. It is the leader and all other coins seem to follow it. I wonder if it has to do with whichever coin one tends to deal with first. I felt the same as you but in reverse. I had always dealt with Bitcoin. Then when I started dealing with Steem it made me nervous.
