Hurricane Katrina 1st Anniversary Guests appeared on a set one block from the 17th St. Canal in New Orleans to talk about reconstruction efforts and recovery following Hurricane Katrina’s landfall approximately one year earlier. The location was in front of a damaged home in the hardest area of the city where the levee was breached and where the Army Corps was rebuilding.
Telephone lines were open for calls from viewers, with one telephone line dedicated to hearing the stories of survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Video clips, which were taken in July and August, were shown of the current conditions in New Orleans.
