Watch The world's first electronic musical instrument - Theremin-show in Székesfehérvár video on DTube
This video was recorded last summer, at the Night of Museums in Székesfehérvár.
Theremin is the world's first electronic instrument, which is controlled without physical contact by the performer. It is named after the Westernized name of its Soviet inventor, Lev Sergeyevich Termen (known in the West as Léon Theremin) (Термéн), who patented the device in 1928.
The thereminist stands in front of the instrument and moves his or her hands in the proximity of two metal antennas. The distance from one antenna determines frequency (pitch), and the distance from the other controls amplitude (volume). Higher notes are played by moving the hand closer to the pitch antenna. Louder notes are played by moving the hand away from the volume antenna.

I tried this instrument, and the result was a terrible meowing :))) The truth is that it's very-very difficult to play Theremin. Much more, than violin. Our famous violinist, Katica Illényi also had to practise a lot until she could play a composition.
