Here's the follow up to my "Anarchapulco: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" video from Tuesday.
I wanted to address a few things that had come up in the FB comments.
If anyone watched that video and thought it was all about the fact that I lost money on the event... maybe you need to re-watch it, because that was just a tiny thing that I mentioned once in those 32 minutes, and not in any way the focus/purpose of the video.
Similarly, if anyone watched that video and thought it was "30 minutes of whining" (as some comments said), I would again recommend re-watching it, especially the first 15 minutes, which were exclusively me sharing how amazing my experience at Anarchapulco has been since 2015.
I needed to correct the statement I made about the interaction I witnessed between Clive de Carle & Jessica Kill, after @CatherineBleish informed me that it was actually 35 tickets sold and 40 people let in free, not "a few" as I had said in the video.
I have nothing against the event itself, and if it turns around and gets back on track with the intentions & purpose of the last four years, I'd be happy to come back again next year.
Even if Anarchapulco completely crashed & burned, and this was the last year, that doesn't mean anything in particular for the movement, as there are already TONS of alternatives (some decades older and some brand new), including Jackalope Freedom Festival, Anarchadelphia, Anarchizona, Porcfest, The Rainbow Gathering, Midwest Peace & Liberty Fest, Be Empowered, etc. For the whole list of events like this that I've found, click here.
For myself, I feel like between these videos I've really said all that I need to say about the event this year, and I'm going back to simply focusing on the message, my own growth, and of course getting ready for Be Empowered (the conference I'm producing in May)
