I have been 'looking at Tesla' on and off for quite a while, and this morning was one of those times...
From his scientific brilliance, to his more esoteric beliefs and 'numerology'. (for want of a better word).
Throughout my own life I have been 'somewhat aware' (for want of a better description) of numerical patterns in life generally. Things come in 3's, for example..
Disconnected to this first part, but related in a tenuous way- has been my fascination with music.
Now, to be clear, - I am not much of a musician. I have as much musical talent as your average rock - but non the less, my music interests reach far beyond just 'sounds'.
Way before tech allowed it, I always wanted to 'paint' music - I could 'see' music visually, and with the arrival of house and trance music, my 'mind paintings' exploded.
( I might try one - my first attempt ever, and post it here...)
I'd known a composer in the years gone by. Like, as in, a real music composer.
His knowledge of the technical side of music was a pleasure to listen to.
He hated house and trance music, BUT, after allowing me to drag him to a Paul Oakenfold gig (yes, we are talking early/mid 90's), he was quite astounded with what he heard.
He told me afterwards that the 'trancy' side of the electric production was eerily constructed in ways that were very similar to the way classical music was constructed..
'Cool,' I thought - my love of house music suddenly gained intellectual credibility! lol (credibility was a big thing for me back then, ok?...mmm...how strange...).
I digress. It's a Sunday morning... give me some slack...
Anyways....,
I always saw 'trancy' music as very tribal. Ancient sounds in a modern format, if you will.
Sounds they reverberated to the more primal essence of our beings and nothing to with the technology that made it possible.
Anyone who's gone to a serious rave back in the day, knows what I'm talking about...
(And Tesla had a fascination with sounds and frequencies, too)
And then I came across this after youtubing some Tesla, and sounds,and numerology....
Talk about 21st century, meeting African ancestry....
I closed the link after screen capturing it (I couldn't download it), and I have no idea of the link, or artist, or anything really .....But if I find it again, I'll drop the link in for the whole thing (and yes, I cleared my history).
Talk about 21st century, meeting African ancestry, and the universality of sounds, ....and Tesla understanding of the relationships...
Working on the assumption the Tesla had more intelligence in his little finger, than I possess in my entire body, you can't discount anything he saw as important. Nothing.
Intelligence, to me, is best defined as 'the ability to see things that others cannot', in my humble opinion...
....and with that, I will delve into the weird 'science' of numbers a little more, starting with trying to understand Tesla concepts of them, and work from there.
It's way more interesting than talking about children with lots of SP's, personality disorders, and IQ's lower than reputation levels.
(Can you tell I've never read the book ' how to make friends and influence people'?).
