I have been into music for a very long time. As a kid I would envision myself rockin out on the big Stage. Sure back then, when I was way younger, I wanted to be a Rock Star. Today that has changed pretty drastically. Now I am knee deep into Hip Hop. Hip Hop has captivated the entire world. In the last 30 years the entire game has changed.
Music with substance
The biggest complaint in Hip Hop today is that the music is just trash. I don't agree 100 percent but I do see that there is a void of good music with real meaning. Of course we have a couple artists who keep it real, but those that are trending and hot now are not the most talented bunch!!!
This mixtape is different and is carrying an important message for today's youth. Put the guns and hard drugs down. I try to always convey a positive message whenever I make music. As some of you may know I have three kids and I dont want them listening to songs that explicitly name all these prescription drugs. It hurts because I am a music lover to the core and I don't want to limit them from the music they choose to listen too. It makes me scratch my head because my parents didn't let me play Hip Hop in the house. Now I am following their footsteps. I tell myself it's different but it really isn't. In the 90's gangsta rap emerged with a bang and shocked the nation. So I am sure my parents had a reason to not let me listen to NWA saying Fuck The Police. I guess the cycle continues. So I told myself I would never make a song that I don't want my kids to listen to.
