Enjoy 2017's fall color display from my daily walk. This park is a gem sitting right next to the downtown atmosphere.
Levi Carter Park on The Omaha, NE shore of Carter Lake. The opposing shoreline is home to Carter Lake, IA .
Carter Lake used to be part of the Missouri River. The river was diverted in the mid 1950's to make way for Eppley Airfield. This change created an interesting conflict, not known anywhere else in the United States.
Since the state boundaries followed the river, a piece of Iowa was now surrounded by Omaha, NE. The resolution was to have the residents of the area in question to vote for their preferred State. Iowa won the coin toss because it's tax structure was lower.
With a ten mile perimeter, it has many different landscapes to offer and is a perfect day hike in the middle of the city.
I hope the music was pleasant enough and you enjoyed the perspective I presented. Artist is Pupajim-Business of War
