The Lao Nippon Bridge, also known as Pakse Bridge, is a road bridge that spans the Mekong River near the Laotian city of Pakse.
Construction of the bridge, which was financed by the Japanese government, began in October 1997 and was completed in February 2000 at a cost of approximately US$48 million. The bridge connects Pakse, located on the eastern bank, with Thailand via Phonthong, located west of the Mekong, and the border town of Vang Tao, and is intended to promote trade and tourism in southern Laos.
The bridge, which is 1380 meters long and 11.8 meters wide, has two lanes with two footpaths on either side. Technically, it is a mixture of prestressed concrete hollow box girder bridge and Extradosed Bridge. The medium span is 143 metres. The bridge is part of the National Road 16.
The Lao-Nippon Bridge was the second Laotian Mekong Bridge after the Thai-Laotian Friendship Bridge opened in 1994 and is still the only one that is completely on Laotian territory. It is the southernmost Mekong Bridge in Laos; the next bridge over the river is the Second Thai-Laotian Friendship Bridge near Savannakhet.

Die 1380 Meter lange und 11,8 Meter breite Brücke ist zweispurig mit zwei Fußwegen auf jeder Seite. Technisch gesehen ist sie eine Mischung aus Spannbeton-Hohlkastenbrücke und Extradosed Bridge. Die mittlere Spannweite beträgt 143 Meter. Die Brücke ist Teil der Nationalstraße 16.
Die Lao-Nippon-Brücke war die zweite laotische Mekong-Brücke nach der 1994 eröffneten thailändisch-laotischen Freundschaftsbrücke und ist bis heute die einzige, die vollständig auf laotischem Gebiet liegt. Sie ist die südlichste Mekong-Brücke in Laos; die nächste Brücke über den Fluss ist die zweite thailändisch-laotische Freundschaftsbrücke bei Savannakhet.
