Hello and welcome back!
Today I wanted to share with you my latest drone video I put together of the footage I captured while exploring one of my favorite places, the White Mountains of New Hampshire!
No matter how many times I've flown, I always get nervous flying over water, or really really high. I know logically, it doesn't make much sense, being that whether it's 10 feet, or 1000 feet high, if it falls, it's probably dead either way, but you know us humans, we're not always logical. But the colors were so amazing, and the lake like glass, so I took to the sky and tried to find the best shots to capture!
I always say I'm going to practice flying more cinematically, but I never really take the time to practice, as I'm usually more focused on the photo aspect, but it's times like these that I miss my 3DR Solo drone. Although it's so big, I probably wouldn't take it with me anyways, but it's ability to preprogram cinematic shots and then execute them perfectly with minimal user input was just an amazing feature, and I'm surprised DJI still hasn't implemented anything like the Solo's "Smart Shots" all these years later. And the DJI gimbal control is terrible, which made me super happy after nailing the last shot in this video, where I panned upwards smoothly while flying back and down. Though with the Solo, that would be a piece of cake for it to execute. With that said, I do appreciate the fact that I'm getting better at flying manually, but I still wish I could have some bread and butter shots could be executed by the drone, but we'll see if DJI ever picks up on that.
With that said, I'm super excited about the amazing footage I was able to capture, and the luck I had in the great conditions I had! Hope you enjoy!
