Dtube could be the "killer app" to bring Steem to mass adoption. Could be a Youtube killer....or could be the app that kills Steem itself!
Unfortunately in its currents state it could become a liability for the Steem ecosystem (and especially its price!) unless action is taken to curb the mass copyright infringements taking place there. Some greedy inconsiderate Steem users are uploading the latest copyrighted movies and songs to Dtube and even making money off them from the upvotes.
Savvy investors know the US government won't let this carry on for long and might be nervous about investing in Steem unless solutions are found. Steem could soon hit the news for all the wrong reasons.
The problem is well addressed in this post by and in its reply section. Some solutions are put forward there and
hopefully will soon be on it.

So far Steem has worked well in rewarding original content and punishing plagiarizers/copyright infringers. Dtube presents a new challenge. I remain optimistic that solutions will be found. Community self policing could still be enough if appropiate tools are put in place.
