I have a motto that I live by, Never Give Up!. When I started Steem I had no idea what I was going to do. My skills were few. I had never edited a video, wrote a story, or made a video for that matter. I learn slowly through trial and error how to do most things. What does work in my favor is I am not afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes can make for the funniest times in your life if you let them.
After being on Steem for a while I had an idea for a show. I wanted to get to know the real people behind their usernames without Steem talk getting in the way. With that in mind Pants are Optional was born.
The first episode was filmed very late at night with @ArtemisNorth. She answered my DM (Discord Message) and said "Yes" to a vague idea I had involving asking Steemians odd questions about everything and anything. After I remembered to hit record on OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) the rest was history.
To say the first show went off without a hitch would be a lie. For some reason, the sound was echoing when I watched the playback of ArtemisNorth and me the next day. I took the sound file and opened up Audacity, a digital audio editor and recording application software, that I also knew nothing about and tried my best to make the video sound audible.
Did the video and sound end up perfect? Nope, not in the least, but it was the best I could do at the time. I posted it on Steem in all it's mistake-ridden glory.
With each episode, I learned a bit more about all the programs I was using. I still am learning, to this day, how to make videos and sound better. My motto of "Never Give Up!" always on my mind.
The video in this post is a compilation of the first seven episodes of Pants are Optional. When watching it you will see how the video quality improved along the way. How I got more comfortable asking questions and laughing along the way.
I hope this helps anyone to know that you don't have to be perfect to start something you just have to START and the rest will come along the way.
When I get back home and am rested I will be doing new episodes of "Pants are Optional" with a few surprises along the way.
