This tornado started just north of Franklin Grove IL, traveled northeast for 43.5 miles, and ended just south of Belvidere IL. It was about a half mile wide at its widest, and peak winds of 200mph making it a strong EF-4 tornado, 1 mph short of an EF-5. The small town of Fairdale IL was directly in the path and sustained major damage, including 2 fatalities.
