Best best best one of the best food we've had while in Malacca. EPIC Nyonya Cuisine, indeed. It's first time we had BLUE bakchang ! A sticky rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo (?) leaves. Usually it's brown/golden-ish kinda but this one is real blue!
We didn't try all the nyonya food there but I would assume, this is one of the best nyonya food in Melaka. A few locals even recommend the place! 'Poh Piah Lwee Malacca'. Seems like Malacca famous food..
See, from the name, you probably could guess it, their Poh piah is hard to beat. So flavourful and stuffs with so much stuffs. Love it! The rojak is fresh and soooo refreshing with all the fruits and vegetables. Nyonya Laksa is also hot, spicy and flavourful. Not as good as the Chinese Laksa we had in Johor Bahru though, uh oh.
What is nyonya food, you ask? It's the mixture between Chinese and Malaysian food.
If you're looking for what to eat in Melaka, this type of Malaysian food / Chinese food : Nyonya cuisine is probably something you might as well give it a try. Best nyonya cuisine in Malacca, guess where? :)
