Hey beautiful beings,
Today I wanted to share with you how stating that I am a content creator has helped improve my self confidence.
I had never really made videos before I started my journey here on dtube. I initially found it a little difficult to make videos when the people around me didn't seem to understand or support what I was doing and because of this I didn't feel I could express how beneficial making content had become to me.
I try not to place my attention in how others perceive me but over the last few months I have definitely been dealing with a drop in my self confidence and this has really inhibited my ability to fully commit myself to the creative process. I feel like I've tried to explore different avenues within my videos but I have definitely stuck to things that are familiar and make me feel comfortable.
I will admit that it has become increasingly easier to create now that I'm traveling and I'm not surrounded by people who know me. There's a slight comfort in meeting new faces and knowing that they don't have a preconceived idea about who I am. And in an attempt to keep building my self confidence I have started saying to people that I am a content creator and that I make videos. I understand that this may seem an obvious thing to do but because of where I've been mentally it has been something I have definitely struggled with.
I really believe that words and statements hold strength in shaping our realities so by making this statement clear for others it solidifies what I want for myself. This is what I do and what I love and I want to showcase how proud I am of this. I really feel this mental shift has reflected a lot in my most recent videos and I couldn't be happier with what I have been creating.
I'm curious to know if anyone else struggles with this. Has expressing to those in your immediate environment been somewhat of a challenge or do you find it easy to own that title?
