My first episode of my Dtube exclusive music production series. Many Steemians asked me to start a series, I'll be doing a video a day.
Blockchain Music Production Series will focus on everything music production. Core lessons will focus around electronic music production but I'll make videos that explore other aspects of sound. Synthesizers, samplers, drum machines, sequencing, patch editing, sound production, song structure and countless other topics will be covers in this series.
This first episode serves as a introduction to the series and a quick talk about wires and cables. I'll go into the difference between midi, audio, mono and stereo cables. Various instruments require various wires, what you need will depend on the gear you decide to purchase.
: Midi Wires :
Midi stands for Musical Instrument Audio Interface and was invented by Dave Smith who still makes synthesizers today. Midi has become the industry standard for electronic instrument communication. Midi allows you to chain instruments together, sync the tempo, play sounds or control various parameters. Giving you full control of the musical setup.
My second Blockchain Music Production video will dive deep into midi and explain everything you need to know.
: Audio Wires :
Audio wires comes in various sizes and signal paths. Some wires are mono while others are stereo, the gear you buy will decide which wires you'll need to buy. One thing is for sure, you'll buy a ton of wires. You'll buy 50$ worth of wires and when you get home, realize you spaced out of a few wires. It's kinda crazy, they end up everywhere. That's part of the game.
I hope this series will help some people on the blockchain get into electronic based music production or music in general. I need to thank anyone who supports the series in any way, it means the world to my content.
Till next time, stay creative
- Todd
