Hello, friends!
Just wanted to share a short video with you all today about a quick little core burnout set that you can do anytime, anywhere!
I love finishing my workouts with core work, because usually the exercises I’ve already done have taxed my abs quite a bit, and I like to use the bulk of my deep core strength to stabilize and effectively lift - after that, any more is just a bonus!
Today I decided to do three movements, and do a rep scheme of 30-20-10 with as little rest as possible in between… Meaning 30 reps of each of the three exercises, then 20 reps of each, then 10 reps of each. Even though the sets get shorter, it’s still keeps your core on fire!
The exercises I chose today were:
Crunches (feet elevated on a box)
V-twists (per side)
Hollow rock (back and forth equals 1 rep)
Again, 30 crunches, straight into 30 v-twists per side, straight into 30 reps hollow rock. Then 20 of each the same way, then 10 of each. Ouch!!
I chose these exercises to attack all parts of your core, so that you get a well balanced burn in a short amount of time. I’ve been trying to mindfully include a little extra core work each day, so I’ll keep sharing ideas if you guys would like! :)
I used a 15lb weight for my exercises, but these can be done with more, less, or even no weight and will still get plenty spicy… I strive to push myself the best I can without sacrificing form!
One suggestion I forgot to make in my video is to really focus on the mind-muscle connection here, making sure that you specifically recruit and target your ab muscles even as you start to fatigue.
It doesn’t have to be fancy to be effective, and I’d say that this was DEFINITELY effective!
Plus, I had a great bonus - my boyfriend Chris joined me! It’s super nice to have a workout partner, so get out there and find one if you haven’t already! I appreciate a gentle push in the right direction when I need one, and I’m there to do the same for him… Together, we always get more work done than we would on our own. And it’s way more fun!
Let me know if you guys try this, or if you have any questions! I love hearing your feedback, and I promise I’ll keep working on my videos to improve them for you :)
Thanks for reading (and watching!), I am so thankful for your support!
