Tehanu, book no. 4 of the Earthsea saga written by our beloved fantasy writer Ursula K. Le Guin.
On the left is an English version of the book, image found on the web, while on the right is Slovenian translation which I finished reading minutes ago.
How can I describe this book in one sentence?
It's a delayed love story with not much outer magic yet with plenty of inner magic and feelings and love.
This book was written 18 years after the third book of the series was published. One can say that it is more mature. It is different, darker and deeper. It is almost like a long last chapter of the second book and a prelude to the book that follows it.
What will Tehanu develop into? Will she become a dragon?
What about Tenar and Ged? Will they find peace in the mountains or will they be engulfed in more adventures?
This book brings more questions than answers. It has a conclusion that is opening the doors. Which is great because I am going to start reading book five, Tales From Earthsea, tonight. Again, it is an intermezzo for book six, The Other Wind.
These two books.
