Yesterday I received 2400+ token from eBTC, In all honesty I have no idea about the technology behind it is, but is nice to get token that are not fueled by an ICO, greed or disagreement. when I started writing this the value sat at zero, but I'm sure that the intrinsic value perceived by user will increase with time as well as the actual value given by the market.
Right now I'm following their Telegram group with great admiration for the passionate people trying to make it work; perfect strangers all working together on a common goal, so far they have been able to get it into an exchange, blockfolio app, Coinmarketcap, reddit and soon Shapeshift. I know some of these accomplishment sound like trivial tasks, but all has happened in less than a day after the airdrop.
This is a perfect example how blockchain technology can fuel new ideas, new ways of interaction that can become full innovative non-profit/for-profit projects.
A few days ago I read on some post on Facebook from a Mexican guy asking if people though viable to start and ICO, where people would buy token to help rebuild houses after the earthquake, in return they would receive tradeable token that represented room nights to stay on the houses that were built or in houses/rooms run by volunteers that wanted to help; Personally I think something along those lines with a lot of though would be a brilliant idea which with the work of a committed, passionate community similar to the one eBTC is turning out to be, could become a viable idea.
This is just and out of the blue example of that the blockchain technology could provide to the world!.
