Regular wood is always better 😁👌☕ , this one is good to use when you've got the heat up on the stove or in the room and you're keeping the heat up at some level, but for these blocks to burn well, it depends on what else they're made of ( they put in ) . Some manufacturers add a light heating oil mixture to it, which helps with burn it . It is not lot but tiny .

Also It's easier to said like this , they're a good plan B to use when it's difficult to get firewood right away, especially when prices are high. 💁‍♂️
