27th July 2018 was supposed to be a historic date as today we are able to witness the longest lunar eclipse, never ever to be seen in another 1,000 years or so. Another specialty would be that it will be a blood moon-which means that the color of the moon will be orange to reddish depending on where you are on Earth.
The reason for the blood color on the moon is because only yellow and red solar rays are able to pass through the Earth's atmosphere and this will be reflected on the moon.
This historical phenomenon was supposedly visible to the entire Earth due to the extensive time period of this lunar eclipse. However, we are not fortunate enough to experience this once in a lifetime natural occurrence. Most of South Asia will not be able to witness this blood lunar eclipse due to bad weather.
For me, the moon is completely blocked by dark clouds and only the reflected light of the moon can be seen.
I will keep checking and provide an update if I am lucky enough to witness this.
