The push for higher asset prices was done in hopes of creating the "wealth effect". Through the purchase of bonds, the Fed was able to push prices higher for different asset classes.
This is coming to an end. The next go around, we are going to have to see the "people's easing", which funds consumption. Unfortunately, this is likely to result increase the wealth inequality.
Unfortunately, there will a big fallout from this.
