Macau was the first European colony in China and was also released last. Until 1999 it remained a Portuguese colony in China.
Because of its rich history, Macau is a wonderful mix of Portuguese and Chinese influences. Because the city state has been under Portuguese policy for years, much can be found in the culture, architecture, but also in language. Portuguese remains the main language of Macau despite the fact that there is also a little bit of English spoken. In the restaurants and local cuisine, the Portuguese influences clearly come to the fore.
Macau owns a beautiful monumental inner city. Churches, squares, temples and many other beautiful buildings and locations can be found here. In 2005 the center was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.
There is, however, something else that makes Macau so unique.
In addition to the culture under the influence of China and Portugal, Macau clearly has something else that makes unique "Casinos"
And there are still many new construction projects underway for even more casinos and hotels.
