Great news out of the scenic state. Earlier this year, the Minneapolis City Council blocked a $15 minimum wage charter amendment from the November ballot. A Judge ruled against this in August. So this November, citizens will have the power to determine their economic fates.
Like most Fight for $15 victories, the raises will be gradual - $10 in 2017, then $15 by 2020. The minimum wage in other first world nations, like Australia, are $17.70 as it has kept in pace with inflation. This is one step in the right direction. Several states have already indexed their minimum wage to the inflation rate.
